The Ozelot Sword is a hybrid sword named for the spotted pattern that appears on their young leaves. New foliage that grows looks red in color, and turns more green as it matures. The reddish spots may remain visible even on mature leaves.
All species of Echinodorus are heavy root feeders, and therefore require a nutrient rich substrate that is often supplemented with root tabs in order to support their growth. They develop expansive root systems as well, so deep substrate is a must, at least two or more inches.
