Common Name: Wendtii Red, Red Water Trumpet
Average Mature Size: 6 to 8 inches
Recommended Light: Low to Medium
Wendtii Red is a Crypt variant known for it's blush color and brown stems. It has lanceolate leaves that are long and narrow. It grows laterally along the soil from it's rhizome. Their middling height makes them a good choice for midground and background plants. They are hardy and can tolerate a variety of water parameters, making them a great choice for beginner aquarists.
Cryptocoryne Wendtii are heavy root feeders and so they prefer a nutrient rich soil. However, you can still have success growing crypt in a fine to medium sized gravel when planted with sufficient root tabs. They can be grown submersed or emersed, and can be propagated by dividing the rhizome.
