Alternanthera Bettzickiana is a beautiful addition to midground and background scaping. It has greenish-pink leaves with vibrant red underleaves and stems. These plants prefer higher light environments, with up to 12 hours of sunlight daily. They can be temperature sensitive, so keeping your tank water above 70 degrees F is a must.They grow best in an organic soil with supplemental liquid fertilizer, and can also be grown emersed. CO2 injection will benefit this plant but is not necessary for healthy and abundant growth. Alternanthera Bettzickiana is easily propagated by stem cuttings of at least 4 nodes. It is a fairly slow growing stem plant when submersed, so it can be an ideal addition to nano tanks or lower maintenance setups.
